CGTI Partners with CMAA to Provide Soft Skill Trainings

PHNOM PENH: The Cambodian Garment Training Institute and Cambodian Mine Action and Victim Assistance Authority have signed a Memorandum of Understanding on Wednesday to establish a mutually beneficial cooperation and exchange on capacity building between the two entities. The partnership highlights two training courses on leadership skilles provided by the Garment Manufacturers Association in Cambodia and Cambodian Garment Training Institute to the Cambodian Mine Action and Victim Assistance Authority and the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific.

Senior Minister and First Vice President of the Cambodian Mine Action and Victim Assistance Authority Ly Thuch has expressed gratitude to the Garment Manufacturers Association in Cambodia and Cambodian Garment Training Institute for the partnership. He says, they did not only manufacture garments but also hopes and dreams for the millions of Cambodian people. Ly Thuch has highly appreciated the complementarity between public and private entities as they believe that it can help beneficiaries go farther and make greater accomplishments.

GMAC Chairman Van Sou Leng says that while their focus is garment industry-related training, there are many other courses for both hard and soft skills that fit multiple sectors including non-profit NGOs and Government entities. He says, this partnership will open an opportunity for them to provide a number of soft skill training courses to CMAA which is the government’s esteemed authority carrying out a noble mission to clear landmine, to assist the victims of landmine and to educate people about the mine risk.

GMAC’s chairman has added that over 20 years, CMAA has made remarkable achievements with thousands of square kilometers of land being cleared and released for socially and economically productive uses. And landmine victims have also been well assisted. He has claimed that they are honored to join CMAA’s journey and be able to contribute in any small way to their further success in the future, especially the realization of your 2025 Vision.
